Are You Reading NBA Odds Lines the Right Way?

If you want to start betting on the NBA, you’re probably wondering what the information on the sportsbook entails. If you don’t know the reason for that, then this article is perfect for you.

Reading NBA Odds Listing the Right Way

In this article, we’ll cover some of the specific details in the odds comparison page or sports book to serve as tips before betting. These details include the point spread, moneyline, over/under, and the rotation number.

The point spread is often referred to like the line, which the odds are generally called. The over/under is the total after all the matches a team made. The rotation number, on the other hand, is the number or mark indicating the rotation.

Sportsbooks generally have the same format and details are listed in a similar manner. However, there are some differences too, and that’s why you need to learn about how to check them yourself.

One difference is how the team is listed. The first team in question might be listed on the left, while the other is on the right. It can also be the reverse. Regardless, you can find out if it’s the home team or visitor as indicated on the sportsbook page.

Then you’ll see the date and time of the game. This is usually in the far left of the listing and in between the team names and date and time is the best rotation number.

Don’t worry because every sportsbook will list the same “best rotation number” whatever brand the sportsbook is.

Then to the right of the listing, there’s the point spread, moneyline, and over/under. The point spread is there to make it harder for you to make the right choice. It is listed in decimal format with negative and positive signs.

This is connected to the moneyline as it is based on point spread. If, for example, the point spread is -1, then the moneyline will be -120/+100 for which the first one (-120) is the amount you’ll lose, while the second one (+100) will be your profit if you win.
